Nadine HenrichsViola
Spot on: Relaxed gardening and cooking
Nadine Henrichs (*1984) received her first violin lessons at the age of 11 from Marie-Luise Jauch in Hanover and began studying with Professor Martin Dehning at the Münster University of Music after graduating from high school. During this time, she gained her first experience of historical performance practice, which fascinated her so much that she transferred to the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen in 2008 after completing her first diploma to study baroque violin with Professor Thomas Albert. After her second diploma in 2011, Nadine stayed with Thomas Albert for a further year to study classical violin.
In 2012 she was a member of the EUBO – European Union Baroque Orchestra – and in 2013 she took part in the Ambronay European Baroque Academy under the direction of Leonardo Alarcón.
Since her first studies, Nadine has played the viola with great passion in various chamber music projects and has also been intensively involved with the baroque viola since her time in Bremen. With her own CD «Delicacy», she has fulfilled a long-standing wish and started an attempt to lift the baroque viola out of its derided niche existence.
She is a guest or member of various ensembles, including Societé Lunaire, Berlin and Ensemble Odyssee Amsterdam, Ensemble Schirokko Hamburg, Vox Luminis, Freiburger Barockorchester, Les Passions de l'Âme, La Cetra and Capricornus Consort Basel.
She has also attended masterclasses with Mira Glodeanu, Veronika Skuplik, Anton Steck and Sirkka-Liisa Kaakinen and taken lessons with Shunske Sato, Sophie Gent and Jane Rogers. Nadine plays her own baroque viola, which was built by Johann Georg Thir in Vienna in 1775.
