Ieva Saliete

Ieva SalieteHarpsichord/organ

Spot on: optimism, serenity, love of nature, mushroom picking.

Ieva Saliete was born in Riga. Her interest in historical keyboard instruments began during her piano studies at the Latvian Academy of Music. This was followed by studies with Robert Hill at the Musikhochschule Freiburg and with Jörg-Andreas Bötticher at the Schola Cantorum Basel.

1996 - 2010 Ieva lived in Freiburg and gave concerts all over Europe as a harpsichordist with the Kammerorchester Basel and the Freiburger Barockorchester and has participated in many radio and CD productions. Returning to her homeland, Ieva has become a sought-after musician for solo and chamber music concerts. She also regularly commissions compositions. In 2018, she was honoured for her musical activity with the Grand Music Award of the Ministry of Culture of Latvia.

She passes on her knowledge and enthusiasm for music as a lecturer at the Riga Music Academy, at the Rezekne Music College and at various master classes.
