Spot on: ice-cold bath, sunglasses on his head, «Tom» on his gig bag

Raised in Styria and East Tyrol, Thomas Steinbrucker joined the Tyrolean military band after graduating from high school in Lienz. He then studied instrumental and vocal pedagogy at the Tyrolean State Conservatory with Andreas Lackner and at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Prof. Karl Steininger.

Since 1999 he has taught trumpet at various regional music schools in Tyrol; since 2004 he teaches at the Music School of the City of Innsbruck.

Concert activities with the natural trumpet have taken him all over Europe as well as to the USA, Venezuela, Peru and Japan. In the meantime, Thomas Steinbrucker is a regular guest in leading baroque orchestras such as La Cetra Barockorchester Basel (Andrea Marcon) or Concentus Musicus Wien (Nikolaus Harnoncourt), in addition to Les Passions de l'Âme.

Thomas Steinbrucker plays modern trumpet as 1st trumpet with the Tyrolean chamber orchestra InnStrumenti since 2000 and is also its managing director since 2021.
