Javier Lopez Sanz

Javier Lopez SanzVioline und Viola

Spot on: People, a little personal accent on foreign languages and tortilla de patata.

As a violinist and violist, he plays in a wide variety of formations, including Grenzklang, the Freitagsakademie, Amici Musici, the early music orchestra Les Passions de l'Âme or La Compagna. He also performs as a violinist and violist with the Bern Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and the Camerata Bern.

As a chamber music partner, he can be found at festivals and in concert series such as Santa Vittoria Fratte Rosa (IT), Société de Musique de Neuchâtel, Avigdor Classics or the BarockZentrum Bern.

In 2020, Javier took over the direction of the Swiss Symphony Orchestra of the Jeunesses Musicales Suisse, where he enjoys passing on all his knowledge and rich experience as an orchestral musician to young people. He also teaches violin and viola at the Gürbetal Region Music School and is the director of the music school's symphonic orchestra.

His studies have taken him from Salamanca to Berlin, Lausanne and Bern. During these studies, Javier played as principal second violin in the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) under renowned conductors. All these experiences have had a lasting impact on the musician's life and work.
