Margit Übellacker devotes herself primarily to the revival of baroque and medieval repertoires for historical dulcimer types (pantaleon, salterio, dulcemelos) and studied in Basel, Linz and Munich.

She is co-founder of the ensembles La Gioia Armonica and Dulce Melos. Numerous tours, concerts, radio, television, CD and DVD recordings with the ensembles L'Arpeggiata (led by Christina Pluhar, with soloists such as Philippe Jaroussky, Nuria Rial, Celine Scheen, Gian Luigi Trovesi, Marco Beasly, Lucilla Galleazzi and the King's Singers), Shield of Harmony (with singer Andreas Scholl), Accademia Bizantina, Kammerorchester Basel, Matheus, Tiburtina, Musica Fiorita, Musica Alta Ripa, Coriandolo, Il Suonar Parlante, Oni Wytars, with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, WDR Rundfunkorchester Köln, Mozarteumorchester Salzburg as well as with musical directors such as Riccardo Minasi, Ottavio Dantone, Jean-Christophe Spinosi and Ton Koopman characterise her activity as a musician.
